Hi again! I’m Katie Fields, and if you’ve landed on this page, you’re probably curious about who I am beyond the little box of text at the top.
I’m a Visiting Assistant Professor at the University of Central Oklahoma in Edmond. I spend my days working with in-service teachers who are pursuing certification through alternative pathways — and also mentoring undergrads preparing to become classroom teachers.
My work is rooted in trauma-responsive education (not to be confused with trauma-informed or trauma-sensitive education, as the distinctions matter), educational advocacy, and doing what is right for kids and teachers.
